David French Boyd (1834-1899) was an officer in the Confederate Army who for a time was a prisoner of war on a Union boat moored in Alexandria, La. Thomas Duckett Boyd, younger brother of David French Boyd, was born on Jan. 20, 1854 to Minerva French and Thomas Jefferson Boyd of Wytheville, Virginia.
